Typical cost for a pet portrait: $300 – 600 (depending on size) Please note: These are prices for portraits of one animal from a photo. Since it takes much longer to perfect the likeness of a person, human portraits are more expensive. I can do paintings of any subject–from photographs, or from a combination of photos and real life. The cost varies depending on size and complexity. An attractive oil painting (left) is created from a photo like the one below. I crop and change the background as needed:
