Saturday Painting Getaways
An intensive oil painting course with a relaxing theme!
Time: 11:30am – 3:30pm (with a break for refreshments)
Cost: $175 / session (art supplies included)
This intensive course is designed for the oil painting beginner, but any level of experience is welcome. We will be developing the skill to paint alla prima with oils. Each workshop focuses on a particular kind of subject (a landscape, ocean scene, or a pet). The instructor will give pointers on laying out and mixing the oil palette. The student will become more aware of the overall composition of lines and values-and even learn to use brush strokes in an effective and expressive way. Choose one or both:
July 26: Landscape with Big Sky
August 23: Relaxing Ocean Scene
Let me know if there’s a certain subject (for example, an egret, a dog, or trees) that you would like to paint, and I will consider offering a session for it!
Summer Open Studios
Tuesdays and Thursdays with space available: July 8 – August 28, 2025
Time: 10:30 – 12:30pm
Cost: $48/session ($40 if you bring your own supplies)
All of these sessions are limited to 3 students, so that she can help each person effectively.
The “open studio” is a shorter and more casual workshop, where each artist works on whatever they’d like to paint. Beth gives feedback and advice, while working on a painting of her own–often demonstrating certain techniques and tricks of the oil painting game! We meet in Beth’s home studio in Mint Hill, NC.
