Beth’s Creative Retreat is not just for painters – It’s a luxury getaway to Portugal for the cost of an economy tour!
We settle in for 8 days at the Villa Casal Assis–just 5 minutes from the historic center of town. We will be staying in a classic Portuguese villa, with 5 ensuite bedrooms. There are awesome views of the city and bay from almost every window. The lovely historic Setúbal is just 40 minutes south of Lisbon and just a few minutes away from many other beautiful sites. Setúbal is where Lisbon locals go when they want fresh seafood and dolphin watching. Mercado do Livramento, the fish market, is legendary. Nearby beaches like Portinho da Arrábida have gorgeous turquoise waters backed by the hills of Arrábida!
We love to show people our favorite out of the way spots near Lisbon and Setúbal! There will be many painting sessions on the patio, and all supplies are provided! Those who don’t wish to paint can sip wine and watch or go on an adventure! One of our days we will spend in Lisbon, visiting the oldest bookstore in the world! Browsing unique shops, enjoying lunch in the shadow of the Rua Augusta Arch , and visit an art museum where you’ll see Rembrandt’s awesome painting of Athena!

- Cost: $1,800 (double occupancy) $2,600 (single occupancy)

- 7 nights in the villa with private bedroom and bath

The painting sessions/ workshops will be held on the terrace you see below. (Those who don’t wish to paint can sip wine and watch! Or hike to the fort which has a cafe, retreat to their rooms for rest, or explore the charming city of Setúbal. The city’s historic squares are just a 5-minute Uber ride away.)
